Xicheng and Fangshan Olympic Celebrations

On August 8th 2007 China celebrated exactly one year to go until the opening on the Olympic Games 2008 in Beijing. The main event took place in Tiananmen Square where Chinese officials, over 200 hundred International Olympic Committee (IOC) representatives and 10,000 spectators were treated to a firework and light show, musical performances and special guest appearances. However, 62 other celebrations took place across Beijing and the rest of China on the same day.

The Xicheng and Fangshan Olympic Countdown Celebrations took place in the Xicheng Culture Centre and was organised by the Xicheng District Culture Commission. The show took place between 15.00 and 16.30 on the 8th August and included dance, music and comedic performances.
