Xiu Shui (Silk Market)

The old outdoor Silk Market was demolished in 2005 and replaced by a modern indoor shopping Mecca. The market is filled with a wide range of products and knock-off merchandise. Any Beijing shopping trip should have the Silk Market on the itinerary. The market is open 8.30am until 9.00pm.

The basement floor contains a supermarket, bags and suitcases, shoes, caps and leather goods. On the ground, first and second floor you’ll find men’s and women’s clothing. The third floor contains tailored clothing, children’s clothing, bedding and carpet. The fourth floor is packed with jewellery, crafts, toys, electrical appliances, watches and sporting goods. The fifth floor contains stalls selling more jewellery and coral, pearl, crystal, amber and emerald. The top two floors are restaurants and pharmacies.

The Silk Market is located by Exit A of the Yonganli Subway station.
