Sights: | Wuhan, metropolis at the Yangtze River Guiyuan Monastery, a Buddhist monastery in Wuhan The Three Gorges, impressive river scenery, consisting of the Qutang Gorgee, the Wuxia Gorgee and the Xiling Gorge. It is also famous because of the Three Gorges Dam whose construction startet in 1994 with the Xiling Gorge. The Wudang mountains with the Daoist monasteries have been particularly famous since the film "Tiger and Dragon". They have been a world cultural heritage of the UNESCO since 1994. |
